Cadcorp SIS Map Editor is the professional GIS package for the experienced
user, operating independently, or within a departmental or enterprise-wide
framework.
The Map Editor builds upon the GIS functionality available within
the Cadcorp SIS Map Manager to include advanced geometric construction
and editing, topology, and links to relational database management
systems.

The Cadcorp SIS Base DataSet format (.bds) allows the combination
of all geometric features within a single file.
The Cadcorp SIS Shared DataSet format (.sds) allows the combination
of all geometric features within a single file and allows multi-user
editing.
Users can combine diverse datasets in multiple projections and create
new composite views without modifying the original underlying data.
In addition to file-based GIS data storage formats, several large
data storage solutions are included.
GIS with advanced geometric editing – not CAD software with
add-ons! Unlike rival software in its class, Map Editor was built
from the ground up as GIS software. Map Editor offers a working GIS
environment with 64 bit high precision data storage, plus advanced
tools for geometric editing. In particular, Map Editor provides the
user with tools appropriate to mapping, all of which are available
from pull-down menus and tool palettes.
Map presentation
Map Editor can display maps at any scale and provides a comprehensive
range of pan, zoom and view commands for easy map navigation. Map
Editor features special Cadcorp SIS tools; the Roamer (a powerful
magnifying glass) and Continuous Panning for swift, smooth rolling
pan across base maps.
Queries
A query builder allows the user to build a query by picking items
from a list. Experienced users can create complex, nested formulae
for advanced analysis.
Output
Map Editor includes the Cadcorp SIS 'Print wizard', providing users
with unrivalled plot creation capabilities and the production of exactly
the map you want.
Map Editor is fully integrated with Microsoft Windows environment,
allowing the linking and embedding of maps in MS Windows documents.
