Swift LG appointed Cadcorp business partner for local government.

Specialist in public sector software and services will develop its GIS applications on Cadcorp SIS.

Digital mapping and geographic information systems (GIS) software developer Cadcorp has announced the appointment of Swift LG as a business partner for the UK local authorities market sector.

Part of the Swift Computing Group, Swift LG specialises in the development and provision of integrated software applications for the public sector and has over 70 UK local authorities as customers. The Swift LG product portfolio includes applications for GIS, local land charges (LLC), planning, building control and enforcements, environmental health, licensing, abandoned vehicles and document image processing.

As a part of its on-going strategy to deliver products and services in support of central government drives to modernise local government, Swift LG will use Cadcorp SIS – Spatial Information System to extend its GIS-based land and property applications for planning, building control, local land charges and environmental health.

“Swift LG is committed to providing applications that are ‘open’ and hardware and software independent,” said Brian Kliner, director, GIS, Swift LG. “Our first impressions of Cadcorp SIS fitted this strategy perfectly and we were impressed by the way in which Cadcorp SIS can read and/or write over 150 GIS, CAD, graphic and database formats on-the-fly, without translation.”

“Furthermore”, he added, “our software developers consider the Cadcorp software development kits to be easy to work with, which should result in rapid applications development.”

“We are delighted to welcome Swift LG to the growing community of Cadcorp business partners,” said Mike O’Neil, managing director, Cadcorp. “We are confident that it will be a fruitful relationship for both Swift LG and Cadcorp, as well as for our mutual customers.”
