Press ReleaseCadcorp appoints new business partner in Czech Republic. Hrdlicka spol. s r.o. incorporates Cadcorp Web-based software into its GIS applications for both public and private sector organisations. Digital mapping and geographic information systems (GIS) software developer Cadcorp has announced that Prague-based land surveying and geodetic data solutions company Hrdlicka spol. s r.o. has recently been appointed as a Cadcorp business partner for the Czech Republic and neighbouring countries. As part of the Hrdlicka Group of companies, Hrdlicka spol. s r.o. specialises in the acquisition, maintenance and processing of geographic data and in the development of digital mapping and GIS application software. The company’s principal GIS software offering is MAWIS, an established and widely-used interactive Web-mapping and data administration application. This has recently been re-engineered to integrate Cadcorp GeognoSIS.NETTM Web-based GIS in order to facilitate data distribution and sharing via the Open Geospatial Consortium Inc.TM (OGCTM) compliant interfaces that are built into Cadcorp software as standard. “From a technical standpoint, the Cadcorp SIS® product range gives us access to everything from fully functional, desktop GIS in the form of Cadcorp SIS Map Modeller to GeognoSIS.NET, a powerful Web-based spatial applications-building technology,” said Vladimir Lhotak, technical director, Hrdlicka spol. s r.o. “Equally importantly from a business perspective, with its focus on GIS technology and on bringing spatial technologies into the mainstream IT arena, we identified Cadcorp as a company with a similar strategic outlook to our own and therefore as one with which we could build a serious, long-term business relationship.” Hrdlicka is already deploying its new GeognoSIS.NET-based MAWIS application into the energy distribution sector in the Czech Republic. The company is also preparing to deploy similar applications across a number of other markets within the Czech Republic and within neighbouring states. This will enable a wider range of organisations, including those not traditionally associated with GIS usage, to take full advantage of the Web-based capabilities provided by its new GeognoSIS.NET-based technology. In addition to GeognoSIS.NET, Cadcorp’s desktop GIS products, such as Cadcorp SIS Map Modeller, will be deployed in-house by Hrdlicka as well as at customer sites to facilitate spatial analysis and data engineering. “We very pleased to welcome Hrdlicka into the growing Cadcorp family of business partners,” said Mike O’Neil, managing director, Cadcorp. “The Central European countries represent a major opportunity for Cadcorp and I am confident that, in Hrdlicka, we have a partner with the breadth and depth of technical expertise, and the experience in the marketplace to be successful.” About Cadcorp Established in 1991, Cadcorp is a leading UK developer of digital mapping and geographic information systems (GIS) software.
