Cadcorp and Intermediary Systems Ltd (ISL) forge a UK partnership

Insurance industry will benefit from new software applications developed on Cadcorp SIS GIS platform

Cadcorp, the developer of the popular Cadcorp SIS - Spatial Information System - digital mapping and GIS software suite, announced today that Intermediary Systems Ltd (ISL) have signed a value added reseller (VAR) agreement with Cadcorp.

ISL is an industry leader in the provision of geographically referenced risk models, lifestyle and building classifications to the UK insurance sector. The company is currently engaged in developing a range of applications for the insurance market which harness Cadcorp SIS technology.

Commenting on the agreement, ISL's senior geomatic consultant, Simon Doyle, said, "Cadcorp technology has been familiar to me for five years. The decision to integrate Cadcorp SIS into our product range and back office has been an easy choice to make."

He further commented on the native support for Ordnance Survey data provided by Cadcorp SIS and the ability to deploy Cadcorp's GIS capabilities within ISL's easy-to-use decision support systems as compelling reasons to use the Cadcorp SIS ActiveX technology.

"The insurance sector is a very discerning market. By offering extensible and open GIS solutions, which access a wide variety of mapping data - 'out of the box' - we are setting a template which other application developers will struggle to better”, he said.
