David Bray joins Cadcorp

Cadcorp, the developer of the popular Cadcorp SIS – Spatial Information System digital mapping and GIS software suite is pleased to announce the appointment of David Bray as a GIS Technical Specialist.

Bray has twenty years of programming experience ranging from GIS to databases and the Web. Graduating in Surveying Science in 1980, his 1983 Phd from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne concerned the use of computers to store and manage large-scale map data. From 1983 to 1996, he was a programmer for McDonnell Douglas, where he co-developed the topology engine of the GDS software system. Since then his work has largely involved freelance software project management work for a number of organisations including Virata, Symbian, Anglian Water and Xerox. He holds an MBA and is also an Associate Lecturer in Relational Databases at the Open University.

Bray joins the Cadcorp customer service team to engage in a range of development activities based around Cadcorp SIS. He loves classic cars, especially Panthers, and is currently doing a live-in renovation of a Grade 2 listed timber-frame house in the Fens of East Anglia, England .
