Press ReleaseCadcorp makes two new board appointments Cadcorp, the developer of the popular Cadcorp SIS – Spatial Information System – digital mapping/GIS software suite, today announced two new appointments to the company’s board of directors. Martin McGarry has been appointed director, sales and marketing while Trevor Armstrong has been appointed financial director. Announcing the appointments, Mike O’Neil, managing director, Cadcorp, said, “The existing board has been impressed with the contributions that both Martin and Trevor have made to Cadcorp’s progress since they joined the company last year as departmental managers. We are looking forward with confidence to that progress continuing now that they are part of an extended board of directors.” Martin McGarry joined Cadcorp in 2002 as sales and marketing manager, prior to which he had spent five years as managing director at Informatix Software International Ltd. in Cambridge . With a PhD in civil engineering from the University of Leeds, he began his career in computing, initially as a programmer and then as team leader, at Applied Research of Cambridge where he worked on the GDS system. Following a period as an applications engineer for the Medusa CAD system he moved into sales, initially with Amazon Computers and later with McDonnell Douglas, EDS and the Convergent Group – the new owners of GDS – where he was European sales manager. After a spell with Hewlett Packard as European account manager, where he was responsible for relationships with Smallworld and ESRI, he rejoined Convergent Group – and the GDS system – as European sales manager before joining Informatix as managing director in 1997. Trevor Armstrong is a chartered accountant and joined Cadcorp in 2002. He began his career in finance and accounting as audit manager at chartered accountants Beavis Walker in London, where he qualified in 1984. He then joined Secureop UK Ltd., the UK subsidiary of Group 4 Falck – the world’s second largest safety and security services provider – as financial controller, later becoming finance director and in 1994, managing director and finance director. In 2000 he joined Brooks Hammond as director of this private company, identifying and researching opportunities for business development and launches, with a focus on the retail, technology and software sectors. Cadcorp SIS OS MasterMap Loader is supplied with Cadcorp SIS Map Modeller for the loading and management of Ordnance Survey MasterMap data in relational databases.
