Basildon opt for 58 Cadcorp SIS licences

Essex based Basildon District Council has just ordered GIS software and related services from Cadcorp.

Covering 11,007 hectares and a population of 164,400 people, Basildon has undergone significant residential and commercial development since designation as a New Town in 1949. Basildon Council owns over 12,000 residential properties and the district is now home to some 3,800 businesses.

On recently requesting tenders to supply a new corporate GIS solution, Basildon Council finally decided on Cadcorp SIS - Spatial Information System as the optimum software platform to deliver GIS applications to the Council's various departments.

To date 50 licences of Cadcorp SIS Map Manager, 5 licences of Cadcorp SIS Map Editor and 3 licences of Cadcorp SIS Map Modeller have been ordered. Additional services also include installation, training, implementation, maintenance and project management. Future plans include the expansion of Basildon's GIS deployment to the Web.
