Press ReleaseCadcorp SIS certified NLUD compliant The National Landuse Database (NLUD) Partnership, an intergovernmental agency body responsible for the establishment and management of the first ever comprehensive database of UK landuse, has confirmed that Cadcorp SIS - Spatial Information System has passed the required conformance tests for data capture and is certified as being NLUD compliant. This means that Cadcorp now offers an officially certified product that creates and links land parcels (called polygons) to the NLUD Land and Property Gazetteer (LPG) database and populates the database and land parcels with several compulsory fields of descriptive information. It also exports to NLUD specified data formats and validates the data entry exercise. Cadcorp are the second GIS company in the market to receive NLUD accreditation. Notification being received on 18th June 2001.
The objective of NLUD Partnership is to ensure that all Local Authorities have the means to capture digital land parcel data for the 2001 return. To achieve this the NLUD Partnership will be contacting all suppliers without accredited GIS software tools after the test closure date to seek alternative data capture solutions for their Local Authority users. This Cadcorp SIS based Polygon Capture application was developed by Cadcorp GIS Specialist Tim Goring, who stated: "Over 65 local authorities have applications powered by Cadcorp SIS. NLUD is one of several government driven 'N' initiatives that our users are working with and we see it as essential that Cadcorp SIS continues to provide high quality, easy access to the things that matter to their operation".
